Apple Cheesecake Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 cup of cracker crumbs (Graham)
3 Tablespoons of sugar (refined)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon (ground)
3 Tablespoons of melted margarine
For the Filling:
16 ounces of softened cream cheese
1/2 cup of sugar (refined)
2 pieces of eggs (large)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
For the Topping:
1/3 cup of sugar (refined)
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (ground)
4 cups of apples (about 2-1/2 lbs); peeled, cored and sliced thinly
1/2 cup of chopped pecans
Instructions:
Preheat the oven (350 degrees F). Combine sugar, (1/2 teaspoon) cinnamon, margarine, and crumbs; press firmly on the sides and base of a 9 inch pie dish. Bake for 10 mins.
Beat sugar together with cream cheese inside a bowl till blended well. Add the eggs individually, while beating continuously. Add vanilla and blend thoroughly. Pour onto the crust.
Mix cinnamon, apples, and sugar; gently toss and spoon on top the mixture of cream cheese. Sprinkle over the pecans. Place inside the preheated oven for 70 mins.
Run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the cake. Let it cool then remove the rim. Place inside the refrigerator till chilled. Serve.
