Cheesecakes are really these sinfully delicious dessert treat that is so decadent but it’s so versatile as well. It could be served as dessert during weddings, birthdays or just plain dinners with your family.

Cheesecakes have quite made their mark in history both in real life and also within the artful culinary market as well. They’re quite popular and famous in the US but they originated from Europe and was first introduced during the first ever Olympics held in Greece. It was the immigrants who first brought the cheesecake to American shores. Earlier tastes of the cheesecake appeared to be sour because a lot of spices were then added into this already delicious dessert.

During 1872 a dairyman, James Kraft made a great dairy invention. He invented cream cheese which is today the first and foremost base ingredient of a great cheesecake.

Traditionally, cheesecakes were made creaming together sour cream, lemon juices, vanilla, sugar & cream cheeses of course. This yummy filling is then poured into your crust and placed inside your oven to be baked. After it’s baked, its then chilled for about 1 day before it can be served to guests.

Some things to avoid when making your cheesecake would be to overbeat the mixture for the filling. Another would be to bake your cheesecakes at really low temp. because your crust might break or turn dry when it is overcooked. And the cheesecake should be well chilled inside your fridge for 1 day for it to really settle and firm up.

Cheesecake has seen lots of variations in its preparation. There are different techniques for baking them as well as some variations regarding the cheesecake crust by the addition or subtraction of ingredients. The cheesecake also became available in many flavors and sizes and usually the price of a cheesecake is dependent on its flavor as well as its size.

Cheesecake is now available – sour cream, ranchero, pumpkin, peach, strawberry, mango and so many other fruity flavors that make it this very versatile dessert for everyone. Kids and adults alike love cheesecakes.

Low-fat and Low-calorie ingredients are now available that can be bought in pastry stores and bakeries so you can make your cheesecake totally low-fat and low-calorie. The dieters are no longer going to be depriving themselves of this sweet treat because they could just make one up that will be weight-friendly but still delish.
